Neighbor and I put in the runners today after finishing the brackets this morning. Are they called runners? The horizontal thingies that go in the metal thingies that brace the post thingies that you nail the picket thingies in... to.
I switched between a 2" tape box and a 3" tape box depending on whatever was within reach, so I may have miscut two pieces but I just cut them down for the short section in back so no real waste. Hedges and raised garden bed continue to be inconvenient to work around.
But it’s feeling pretty stout. I’m happy I took all the extra time making the three posts I redid nice and plumb.
Also got stuck helping with three new posts on someone else’s property nearby... Oh well, it’s better than the guy who counted my cars.
